LittlePlate ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the LittlePlate mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Camera & Images. The App requests access to your device camera so you can photograph food items for nutritional analysis. Photos are processed on-device using Google ML Kit and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly save a meal to your account.

Account Information. When you create an account we collect your phone number for authentication via Firebase Authentication.

Meal & Nutrition Data. Food logs, portion sizes, and nutritional information you enter or scan are stored in your account on Firebase Firestore.

Usage Data. We may collect anonymised crash reports and usage analytics to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve food scanning and nutrition tracking features.
• Authenticate your account and keep your data secure.
• Send optional meal reminders and notifications (with your permission).
• Analyse aggregate, anonymised trends to improve App recommendations.

3. Camera Permission

The android.permission.CAMERA permission is used solely to capture food photos for on-device nutritional analysis via Google ML Kit Image Labeling. We do not use the camera to collect biometric data, record video, or access your camera roll without your action.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Google Firebase – for authentication, cloud storage, and cloud functions (processed under Google's privacy terms).
• Google ML Kit – image labelling runs on-device; no image data is sent to Google servers.
• Law enforcement – if required by applicable law.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained until you delete your account. You may request deletion by contacting us at the address below.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including Firebase Security Rules, encrypted data transmission (TLS), and Firebase Authentication to protect your information.

8. Your Rights
